Henry (Harry) Illman (1841–1911) was the third of five sons of John Illman (1802-1860) and Sophia Caroline Dadswell (1814-1885). He was born at Cherry Gardens, South Australia on 9 February 1841. He was Wesleyan Methodist.

Henry was a farmer at Willunga and Aldinga. He is described as a farmer at Aldinga in the Sands & McDougal Directories from 1892 to 1904.

Harry Illman, aged 25 years, married Mary Riseborough, aged 21 years, (1845-1936) at the residence of James Riseborough, Aldinga on 17 May 1866. They had 7 children (2 boys and 5 girls):

  • Hester Ann (1867-1953) was born at Willunga and married Roderick Colin McKenzie on 23 October 1888 at the Registry Office in Adelaide. She died at Aldinga and is buried in Aldinga Uniting Cemetery.
  • Rhoda Caroline (1869-1956) was born at Willunga and did not marry. She lived at Aldinga. Rhoda died at Aldinga and is buried in Aldinga Uniting Cemetery.
  • Julia May (1871-1952) was born at Willunga and married Charles Sampson (1867-1944). She lived at Aldinga. Julia died at Aldinga and is buried in Aldinga Uniting Cemetery.
  • Louisa Ann (“Louie”) (1873-1906) was born at Willunga and died at Kadina.
  • John Herbert James (1877-1907) was born at Aldinga. He died at Katanning and is interred in the W.A. memorial in Aldinga Uniting Cemetery.
  • Harry Ernest (1880-1934) was born at Willunga and married Clara Marion Sutherland in 1905 at Katanning, WA. He died at Laverton, WA, and is interred in the W.A. memorial in Aldinga Uniting Cemetery.
  • Thirza Alice Beatrice (1882-1936) was born at Aldinga and married Hedley Dyer (1881-1931) in 1909. She is buried in Aldinga Uniting Cemetery.

Harry Illman, aged 70 years, died on 30 September 1911 at Aldinga. Mary Illman (nee Riseborough), aged 91 years, died on 19 November 1936. They are both buried in the Aldinga Uniting (Wesleyan Methodist) Cemetery.
