Henry (Harry) Illman (1841–1911) was the third of five sons of John Illman (1802-1860) and Sophia Caroline Dadswell (1814-1885) and he was born at Cherry Gardens, South Australia on 9 Feb 1841. Religion – Wesleyan Methodist.

He was a farmer at Willunga and Aldinga. He is described as a farmer at Aldinga in the Sands & McDougal Directories from 1892 to 1904.

Harry Illman, aged 25 years, married Mary Riseborough, aged 21 years, (1845-1936) at the residence of James Riseborough, Aldinga on 17 May 1866. They had 7 children (2 boys and 5 girls):
