William Leonard Reed was born at Willunga on 6 February 1899. He was the son of Frederick Murray Reed (1863-1922) and Catherine Sibly (1863-1934).

Len Reed, aged 33 years, married Edith Mabel Cox (1900-1985), aged 32 years, on 9 January 1932 at the Aldinga Methodist Church. They had four sons:

  • Ronald William (1934- )
  • Garry (1934- )
  • Darrell Graham (1939- )
  • Kenneth Ernest (1942- )

William Leonard Reed was a quarryman/labourer. He served in the Citizen Military Force (CMF - service number S66273) in World War 2.

Chum Reed, aged 82 years, died on 22 April 1981 at Willunga and Edith Reed, aged 86 years, died on 25 December 1985. They are buried in the Willunga Wesleyan Methodist (Uniting) Church Cemetery.
